Academic – Crime, Criminology & Criminal Justice BA (Hons)

This course draws from a broad range of disciplines such as Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Social Policy and Philosophy in order to actively encourage the development of good analytical and reasoning skills as you engage with academic literature and debates whilst evaluating research and evidence.

 

You will explore key elements of crime, criminology and criminal justice enabling you to gain greater insight into criminal behaviour and how society responds to it.

 

You will be introduced to a range of criminological theories, and consider the roles, responsibilities and actions of agencies within the criminal justice sector that are charged with challenging and preventing offending behaviour. In addition, you will start to develop the academic skills to interpret research so that you can evaluate claims made regarding crime and deviance.

This is a buildable degree.

This means that this degree can be built up in stages to go all the way from Level 4 to Level 6.
