The Unitas Academy provides a comprehensive set of courses and programmes to support the Youth Justice Professional Framework (YJPF). The YJPF provides exciting, flexible opportunities for all staff working in youth justice or those wishing to do so to develop their professional skills and knowledge progressively through to post graduate level.
The Youth Justice
Effective Practice Certificate (YJEPC), which has been undertaken by over 1000
people working in the sector, is already fully embedded within the framework.
Courses are also suitable for professionals in the secure estate, social workers and other allied professionals as well as volunteers seeking to expand their knowledge of the sector.
A flexible structure of progressive awards are of interest to practitioners at any stage of their development. Shorter courses are available which can contribute to the achievement of higher education qualifications, including a Foundation Degree in Youth Justice.
The Unitas Academy utilises engaging and innovative distance learning techniques to bring relevant courses to practitioners at affordable prices and minimal disruption to their workload. All courses are backed by extensive proven online and printed resources and the support of highly experienced tutors.
Founded on the principle of open learning, all Unitas Academy courses are available to all people including those who may not have had recent educational experience. They are fully accredited by SfJ Awards and the University of Suffolk.
All our courses are delivered at a distance. The delivery model is based on the tried and tested approach used to deliver the Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate (YJEPC) comprising high quality digital resources, textbooks and tutor support. The 80% plus completion rate of the YJEPC compared to other courses is testimony to the success of this approach.
